Happy Valentine’s Day to Our Incredible Lev Baby Mamas!

At Lev Baby, one of our greatest missions is to spread love, positivity, and unconditional support to our little ones.

What better way to celebrate this season of love than with a blog dedicated to it? Love comes in many forms, and today, we're diving into the five love languages and how you can reciprocate them!

1. Words of Affirmation

Does your baby constantly say, “I love you, Mama!” or light up when you praise them? If so, they may be the words of affirmation type of lover! Here are some simple yet meaningful ways to speak their love language:

  •  Lunchbox Love Notes – Tuck a sweet note or a little drawing into their lunchbox to remind them they’re loved even when you’re not physically with them.

  • Daily One-on-One Chats – Dedicate at least 30 minutes a day to just talking with them. It can be during bath time, bedtime, or while driving. Give each child individual attention to make them feel truly heard.

  • Say "I Love You" Every Day – This one may come naturally, but hearing those three little words regularly reassures them of your love and teaches them to express their feelings openly. It can also encourage them to have strong family morals as they grow up.

2. Acts of Service

Is your little one always “helping” by bringing you (questionable - LOL) snacks or trying to do things for you? They probably are the type to express love through acts of service! Here’s how to return the love:

  • Surprise Pick-Up – If they usually take the bus or carpool, surprise them one day by picking them up yourself. That moment of excitement and connection will stay with them forever! We all remember how warm and cozy we would feel seeing mom’s big smile at the end of a long school day.

  • Take Them Somewhere Special – Did they love a certain park, store, or spot by the lake? Take them back! Reminding them of happy memories shows them that their joy matters to you.

  • Get creative with their breakfast! - adding a little extra love and detail into their breakfast is such a sweet and affordable way to get them smiling! They will appreciate every inch of this! Bonus points if you put on your matching look to enjoy together!

3. Receiving Gifts

Does your child love giving and receiving small treasures? If so, gifts may be their love language! Here’s how to make thoughtful gift-giving extra meaningful:

  • Little Treats, Big Impact – You don’t have to buy toys all the time! A favorite juice box, a special snack, or even a picked flower can remind them, “I was thinking of you!”

  •  Gift Token System – Instead of instant rewards, create a “gift token” jar for achievements (chores, kindness, milestones). After earning enough ‘tokens’, they can trade them in for a bigger prize they’ve been wanting! This can teach them to ‘work’ towards their goals, and also keep them excited for a future prize!

  • Bamboo Surprise! - For extra fun, we recommend gifting them that Lovey or Blanket they've been asking you about! Something like the Mark or Jade Lovey is a great way to 'reward' them with a gift!

4. Physical Touch

Is your little one always asking for cuddles, kisses, or hand-holding? If so, physical touch is how they feel the most connected to you!

  •  Morning Snuggles & Goodnight Hugs – Start and end each day with intentional physical affection like a warm hug, a forehead kiss, or even a few extra cuddles before getting out of bed.

  •  Make Time for Each Child – If you have multiple little ones, ensure each child gets undivided attention, especially if they have a new sibling. It is a common issue where an older sibling make feel less attended to, so take that extra step to show them that physical affection as well!

  •  Comfort Through Touch – When they’re sad or overwhelmed, a gentle back rub, a cuddle, or holding their hand can be more comforting than words! Small touches, like stroking their hair or holding their hand, can reassure them of your love.

5. Quality Time

Does your toddler always want to be around you, no matter what you’re doing? If so, quality time is their love language! Here’s how to fill their little love tank:

  •  Monthly "Mom & Me" Date – Set aside one day each month for one-on-one time with each child. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just a simple walk, a quick ‘coffee’ shop visit, or a craft day at home. You can even have them join you on a weekly errand, trust us when we say they will appreciate it!

  • Let Them “Help” You – Whether you’re baking, folding laundry, or cleaning, let them feel included. They don’t care about the task, it’s about the fact that you are doing it together. We all remember how special we felt as kiddos when mom let us join her in her arrands!

  • Create a Cozy Connection Spot – Set up a small, dedicated space in your home (like a reading nook or special couch corner) just for your one-on-one chats. Having a go-to “talking spot” makes bonding time extra special! A good idea is to snag a bamboo blanket to dedicate to that cozy corner!
